Freedom - leaf in the stream

Hi guys, new to photography here.. but am interested in it.. currently this is one of my work, hope to receive some feedback/comment from it. thanks.

a little more space aroud it will speak of more "freedom" if you know what i mean?
the part i like...looks sharp, nice

the shimmery reflections do not work for me. it takes away the focus on the leaf and creates a lot of distraction. i find my eyes wandering around the photo.

maybe you can use a polarizer and limit the amount of reflections.

maybe include more of the "stream" elements in the picture, like rocks and pebbles.. cos I just see a picture of a leaf in water.. also agree on the shimmering reflections, too distracting..

A polariser would help a lot here. The reflections are too distracting.
