cos if i submit a 16:9 format picture which clearly isn't a format taken by a Canon cam.

If not, how about Sigma lens on Canon body?

Yes, you can use Sigma, Tokina or Tamron lens on a Canon body.

If not, how about a Nikon soft filter over a Canon lens on a Canon body?

Filter has no consideration all, be it Hoya, B+W or Nikon.

Yes, but minimal, better retain as much as the originality of the photo.

Yes, otherwise how to prove that your photo is taken by a Canon camera.
