hello i'm new to photography and stuff
i was wondering where do you get hoya filters or what ever brands?
what does it do?
and whats with all the measurements beside it?
and how much is it?

I believe alot of shop out there should carry Hoya filter, ie MS Color, Cathay Photo etc. As for what does a filter does, it depend on what type of filter u are referring to. The most general use for filter is to protect your lens from any damage due to knock etc. For price wise, it depend on brand and e quality of the filter. A cheap filter might cost $15 to $25 +/- while a good quality filter from b+w might cost u $100 over.

Filters can be bought at any photography store. As for what they do and what the terminology is, I suggest a very useful site: www.google.com and try to type in "photo filters".
