I'm planning to do a video shoot there for a school project. Wonder if it's allowed? Or is the whole of Pulau Ubin under the National Parks Board?

Cause we've got to get releases if the land comes under the NPB. And that takes months.

If it's not possible to shoot there, how about other islands? We just need to get away from the mainland.

We can't do it without getting caught...
The lecturer will request for the releases.

But we're not doing it for commercial purposes.

Allowed.... my friends have done alot of filming there. And a few of their shorts were featured in film fests. They made arrangements with one of the uncles to use his house as home base where to shower, store equipment etc.

why cant filming be done on Ubin?
Who says so? NPB owns the island? I don't think so.

Unless your film will earn millions of dollars, then someone will take notice...
if not, i doubt anyone would stop u from doing a school project.
