I lazy. Making a tomato-based sauce takes at least 3-4 hours, so I usually become a freezer dad and make a huge batch that can last 1 oe 2 weeks. The acid in the tomato is a natural preservative.

oh.....not sure about the sigma, Tamron 200-500mm is not bad too.
I once had the tamron, very light weight, but sold off to get the 300mmf4
Quite good reviews for the Sigma. If any problem, it's usually the AF needs adjustment.
