What's the difference in pictures?

Spot is different in size and position on different set of images.
Easy way to test:
If dust appears on ViewFinder.

That doesn't indicate that the dust is on the lens instead of the sensor. Dust on the sensor is equally mobile?

yah, for canon cams, if u on/off, it will trigger the static charge to clean the sensor... this may have moved the dust or fur to other parts of the sensor.

the dust is not mobile only when it is wielded to the sensor, then u will need to use cleaning solution to clean instead of blower.

If you zoom your lenses and take shots are different focal lengths, and the spot moves, then the dust is not on the sensor.

For dust spots to appear clearly on lens, it is resting on an element that very close to the aperture opening.

it might be an insect moving around somewhere inside...

It could be that the camera has the anti-dust feature which shakes the sensor. This can cause the dust to shift around sometimes, without being removed.
