Singapore Drumfest 2008 is back again with a bigger bang with Singapore Drumfest Main Event & Concert In The Park!

After last year’s resounding success, Singapore Drumfest 2008 is back with a bigger bang this year! With an all-new programming concept of educational music workshops and masterclasses in the day and concert performances in the night, Singapore Drumfest 2008 aims to bring an entirely new experience for musicians and music lovers alike with two different events over the weekend of September 13 and 14 at Fort Canning Park.

From 12pm to 6pm on September 13 and 14, the Singapore Drumfest Main Event will take centre stage with a feast of high standards masterclasses, workshops and music clinics at Fort Canning Centre’s intimate venues, the Gallery and Blackbox Theatre. Artists include international drummers such as Teddy Campbell (best known for his work on AMERICAN IDOL), Johnny Rabb (World’s Fastest Drummer and Drum ‘N Bass maestro), Virgil Donati (Planet X, Steve Vai), Dylan Elise (New Zealand’s 18-year-old drum prodigy) and Mr. Q (Jay Chou’s drummer). Regionally, do watch out for Malaysia’s Lewis Pragasam (drummer for Bob James, Ernie Watts, David Tao, Asiabeat), Singapore’s very own Brandon Khoo (Shirlyn Tan and the UnXpected) and percussion master Mohamed Noor! Each artist will be sharing their craft, gigging experience with the biggest stars and various tips in the Q&A sessions.

Catering to not just the drummers, there will also be vocal masterclasses by AMERICAN IDOL’s resident vocalist Sy Smith and ROCKSTAR: Supernova’s larger-than-life contestant, Storm Large. ROCKSTAR’s house band very own guitar god and Musician's Institute master guitarist and guest lecturer, Rafael Moreira, will head a guitar masterclass as well. On top of all, there will also be a special band masterclass held by none other than ROCKSTAR’s house band (featuring Nate Morton, Rafael Moreira and Corey McCormick)!

From 6pm to 11pm on September 13 and 14, Concert In The Park will kick into party gear at Fort Canning Green with live performances by AMERICAN IDOL’s Teddy Campbell, Sy Smith and band, ROCKSTAR's Storm Large (featuring Nate Morton and Rafael Moreira from the ROCKSTAR House Band) and the rock powerhouse of MAGNETICO (featuring ROCKSTAR's Nate Morton and Rafael Moreira plus bassist Corey McCormick). Those two performances aside, Rafael Moreira will also be performing a fusion set featuring tracks his debut solo album, Acid Guitar. Adding to the eclectic lineup will be Johnny Rabb and Chris Patterson’s DrumJockey (drum ‘n’ bass), Tribal Tide featuring Mohd Noor (world Latin), The Strikeforce, Mamady Keita and the Lila Drums Djembe Project, Wicked Aura Batucada, a special collaboration by Lewis Pragasam, Mr. Q and Dylan Elise and many more! It’s truly a celebration of the best local and foreign music acts with 5 hours of non-stop entertainment each night!

Keeping the vibe of an outdoor music festival, there will also be fabulous F&B and merchandise stalls at the festival grounds on both days. Expect a great music extravaganza from Singapore Drumfest 2008 come this September 13 and 14 over at Fort Canning Park!
