Discussion about Digital Camcorder

Did I surprise myself by not knowing where to ask this.

I'm looking for a DV Camcorder. But totally at a loss at so many choices

2 products were recomended to me

1. Canon 550
2. Panasonic EX21

I notice the Canon product is only 560,000 pixels
The Panasonic is over 1megapix

But in reading the review of the Canon 550, the reviewer seems to be impressed with the resolution of the canon product. How is that possible?

Any one who knows anything about camcorders? Please help!!!

The new Sonys are 1.5Mp and not much more expensive than their 1Mp predecessors say, 2-3 years ago?
