Hi all..................

We are starting a Digital Compact Camera on 6 June 2006.

Digital Compact Camera Basic Photography Course

Duration : 6 weeks, 2 hours per session
Course Fee : S$120 (member), S$220 (non-member)
Language : English/Mandarin
Pre-requisite : None
Instructors : Edward Cheong, Steven Yee, Goh Kim Hui, Hui Man Yan,

Lesson 1- Theory: (Edward Cheong)
What is ISO, shutter speed, aperture, JPEG compression etc? This session touch on the theory of photography, as well as the various technical jargon, shooting with JPEG.

Lesson 2 - Tips and Techniques: (Steven Yee)
Ever wondered how to take good pictures with the compact camera? The various techniques and special tips shall be shared during this session to equip the participants with the survival skills to handle different subjects.

Lesson 3 – Travel Photography: (Hui Man Yan)
The instructor shall share with you what photography opportunities you can look out for when you go for your travel photography trips.

Lesson 4 – Outing : (Goh Kim Hui)
This session shall see the participants using their compact camera for a shooting session along Singapore River from late afternoon till twilight. They shall practice using the camera taking pictures of the buildings and still life as well as night photography, with and without flash.

Lesson 5 – Digital Workflow: (Steven Yee)
Digital photography is never complete without a proper workflow. The instructor shall introduce the various software such as ACDSee, Adobe Elements and Adobe Photoshop that will help complete the digital workflow.

Lesson 6 – Calibration and Printing: (Goh Kim Hui)
Some may wonder why the printed image from the printer looks different from what they see on the screen. The instructor shall guide the participants in the calibration process that will make your printing experience an enjoyable one.

Assessment
Upon completion of the course, the students are required to submit a set of 6 pictures for assessment.
A course certificate will be awarded for successful submissions.
