Hey IC - would see if you can get other family members to help you relieve your nightly routine at least one night a week. Your health and clarity is important.

My wife also needs to work and wakes up very early to prepare our children for school. She is relatively very very much weaker in tolerance than me. I left for work at 6 and do not see the children until 8 plus in the evening and it is my way of bonding with my children.

There was a heartwarming incident. I was totally tired out when i reached home. I was so tired that my eldest son could tell from my expression. He told his younger brothers not to disturb me as I was very tired.

Sorry it is Physiogel A1. Just bought another 2 bottles today.

Yes.. i am using Physiogel soapless cleanser and moisturzers. Never heard of A1. I will check it out. :)

Today my face look nice.. no redness look 90% recover. Happy like shxt..

I wonder is it due to the Honey with cinannmon drink i took at night help it.

Pls avoid this clinic for eczema. Dont get me wrong, the said doctor may be good at curing other forms of infectious skin diseases.

For eczema, it may be better to go to a proper skin specialist or TCM which members recommend here. Thats all i can say here. This is not a flame bait as I can support my facts. If anyone disagrees, just pm me. Thanks!

I think it's ok to share your experience here.. you got bad experience from there?

Glad that you have fully recovered.
Do you need to restrict your food intake?

I still cannot eat seafood and diary product.
My 2nd doctor was located at chinatown, my colleagues said he is very good.
They said last time chinatown is a red light district too, therefore many uncles and prost will visit him and is cheap.

He charges me $50 only, and asked me not to apply anything on my face, and just gave me 1 mths medicines. While taking his medicine, my lips was pain. I don't know why, after finished the medicines, the rashes came back.

Can you share with me the doctor who help you to recover?

Hi again Ihsan,

I have made appt to see Dr Feng for my son's running nose and phelgm. Can you share with me what is he also good in or area of focus? Is it more to respiratory? How about skin like ezcema?

My other friend's daughter has ezcema and is currently seeing Dr Zhou who is able to cure her. Dr Zhou is good in skin dieases as my relatives' daughter has some skin dieases that no specialist can cure and he managed to cure it too. However, the visit to Dr Zhou is quite expensive. I am not sure if I should ask her to also switch to Dr Feng if he is also good in this area?

Actually now I am starting to to trust western medicine esp for baby, I feel it will harm them with so much chemicals. Hope that chinese medicine is the solution.

Thanks again.

My son has been hospitalised for 4 days again. When he came back, he is experiencing chills. Does anyone here experienced this?

Hi IC,
I stumbled upon this thread only today.

I too have ezcema for as long as i can remember and i'm only in my 20s. Had all the symptoms you mentioned abt your son.
I think i understand wat is the "chills" you're talking abt. Actually its more like involuntary mini shivers. I get it everytime my excema flares up because the skin gets super sensitive and any contact or movement to my skin will cause my body to react with a shiver.

During the worst outbreak nearing my A lvls few years back, it cause not just flakin but also pus to develop on my whole body on all the open wounds. My bedsheet was stained yellow, there was blood... shall not continue... Anyway, was hospitalized and given oral steriods, applied treatment in some funny suit, and a huge doze of all the medicines i cant remember.

Just wanted to say that NSC does not help.
They give temporary relief like steriod oral tablets and cream which causes thinnin of the skin and easier chance to get a open wound from scratching.
From experience, there are certains DONTs you can get your child to avoid which will make his conditions worse. I
've seen all the kind souls who posted b4 this so this is kinda like a consolidation list:
1)Hot water baths. Cures the itch durin the bath but makes your skin worse in the long run.
2)Swimming pool. The chlorine is a killer. Makes your skin super dry and sensitive after.
3)Food allergies. Varies from pple to pple. Seafood, beef, high protein dairy products, liquor, personally its seafood and nuts ( peanuts especially).
4) STERIODS and STERIOD CREAM. it causes all sorts of side effects which i need not elaborate further on.
5) Stress. This is one thing tt always get to me. Before exams, I'll get a mini relapse. Not significant but it still shows up.

Have faith in TCM, after a fren recommended me to one in Bukit Batok, I've been taking her perscriptions every mth and haven had any major relapse for 2 years. It not cheap, abt $100 a mth. All small irritations at the most. But i haven stopped, so god knows if it'll come back once i stop the medication. But as far as i know, its all herb based and no side effects from long term use. Diet plays an impt part, havin the discipline to not eat what you may be allegeric to definitely has helped me.

Shall PM you the address if you need. Hope your son gets better! :)

He seems to have everything that u mentioned. He was hospitalised because of the pus. The funny suit is called the double pyjamas method.

Now I am currently using the palmer's olive butter for his whole body. Effective in moisturing his skin. Need to apply approx every two hours. Able to retain more moisture than the aqueous cream. He is able to sleep better as I applied on his skin a few times at night. The moment he starts to scratch at any time of the day or night, I will straightaway apply.

In TCM, the stomach is closely associated with the skin. If poor digestion, will affect the skin. If constipation, will affect sleep.

Gotta watch what goes into the mouth.

From my experience, avoiding the following helps:

*Egg White (albumin)
*Soya Bean (the soapy substance after soaking; cant remember what it's called but will cause itch)
*No Wheat (only eat rice, chee chiong fun, bee hoon, kway teow)
*Crustateans plus sotong
*No Diary
*All Nuts - includes peanuts (although it's a legume) and coconuts (becos lemak will cause poor digestion)

Previosuly, I had to take medication for 6 months to contain the itch. For the 2nd attack, I took none but just relied on diet control as recommended by doc for 5 months. Been 6 months since recovery and so far so good

Also this TCM doc who's very popular. You dun need to tell him anything, he will tell you what's wrong. Highly recommended by my colleagues.

Beware that he comes with a long list of what not to do and will berate you for not following instructions strictly.

For me I cannot take oily food.. Orelse, my eczyme flare up. And make sure u wipe ur sweat everything u perspire. That's works for me. Drink alot of herbal tea.

No oily food
Drink herbal tea.

Confirm situation improve.

That reminds me LAdy Ice, long time ago when I first visited NSC, I was given a list of what to avoid.

Citrus food was one of them. The other one was food with colouring and preservatives like tataric acid or tatrazine (something like that....).

Ended up I had to eat fish soup with rice and yong tau hoo for a few months for lunch :bsmilie:

Not trying to confuse Ihsan but overloading the liver will also cause eczema.
Check out the article below.

Milk Thistle for Eczema

A friend I know uses this for his dogs and works all the time.

HTHs

It is prob something in the environment that is causing it. My cousin has the same symptoms when he was about Pri 2 or 3 and he had to miss months of school because it. My uncle had no choice but to move him to Australia and it did wonders for him. Now he can do regular activities just like a normal boy but then he cannot be in SG for long periods as the condition will return.

This is an option that you can consider.
