I have accidentally changed the root name "DCIM" of my compact flash card. Now I cannot open, read or access into the data stored in the CF card. Tried everything but still cannot view or read the card.

Fortunately, I did not format or erase the data inside the card yet.

Anyone know how to reverse the process and change the card name back to "DCIM" so that I can open the image file again? My CF card is a Toshiba 128MB and currently using Canon Digital IXUS V3. :( :(

Thanks

Andy, check out these links. Some are info, some are for software utility downloads that will help recover the files. Once you get the files out, reformat the memory card in camera, not with the PC. Good luck.
