It was nice to meet everyone in this outing, really had a good time. Must say that the weather really held out, despite the weather man's earlier predictions of rain. :)

#1 Along the way there (not sure why the blue's so pastel)

Very nice :)

I can never get such color tones with my D70.
So its related to the CWB settings you commented yesterday to achieve this?

I like this title "#5 Raise Your Palms...Oops, I Mean Hands" :bsmilie:

Yap, finally have a chance to shoot with matthew. :D:thumbsup:
Nice series. I really like #8. Looks like x-ray effect........ cool.

I like best #3 & #7, also love the blue sky. Been in many IR outing and taken many shots but never able to PP for blue skies with my mod D70...always greyish.

Hi Matt,

Glad that you can join us for this outing.
My favourite is #7 too.
Same question as Leon, how come we didn't get the same effect like yours for our mod-cam.

Thanks guys :)

The colors are a result of the CWB that is set in the camera. I tend to favour the late afternoon sun. The other thing is to shoot it a tiny bit under.

Cheers,
Matt

nice to shoot with matthew for once

#10 like mirror image ah..but its not :D

Thanks guys, the pleasure was mine :) It felt really good to finally be able to join you for an outing to shoot.

HC, it's with the help of a little flash ;)

Cheers,
Matt

i love this one the most..

Really nice series and the mood for #7 is really good.

Dennis, Wendy, thanks :)

I was staring at the "art piece" from a few angles until I vaguely saw the shape of the crouching cat. The harsh sunlight was washing out the stones and the grass until I remebered that the Orton Imagery treatment, done after an a/b channel inversion (not red/blue channel swap) would allow me to bring different "colors" to the grass and stones.

Cheers,
Matt

although i dunno anything about IR photography, but they look great! very appealing. :)

#3 was done with the help of a flash to get the letters properly lighted up ... hee, cheating

The blue skies depend on a number of factors:
  1. You really do need clear skies
  2. The filter musn't completely block out visible light
  3. The CWB would be better when done with an evening sun
  4. Your photos should be a little under

Try these out to see if it improves the blue ;)

Cheers,
Matt
