Many people in USA treat guns as a toy. In SG, guys went to National Service for 2 years and learn to treat the guns as a responsibility to protect the country. In Switzerland, their national service also create people with same mindset. That is why Switzerland have high percentage of armed people but little gun violence.

I believe the creators of the US constitution also have that mindset when they give people the rights to be armed. But unfortunately the meaning is lost long time ago. People treat the right to bear arms as the right to have a toy to play.
