is it possible to create this by using 50mm f 1.8 lens?...
how did you do that?
nice...very nice....totally impressed!!!!:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:
Fantastic work man....Wah, Wish i could get shots like that. Maybe should use my gels on the flash and try this. Mostly i use them only for warming or color correction.
Never really tried using them for shots like this. Maybe should try. But, i doubt can get any close to yours pro.
Those who interested in the gels, maybe should check out this website:

A step by step would make a wonderful tips and tricks.

Was wondering..with regards to gels on flash, I've seen a youtube tut where its instead flashed at a piece of colored paper place at far end of tub.
Advantage seem to be that you can really use any colored paper/towels? in this case.
And also if u use multiple colors, or 2 colors as in the tut, the droplets will reflect that as well. Which really opens up a whole range of other ideas.
Seems like a great alternative method?
PS:I have not tried droplets photography.
the following are lesson learns from my experiment:
- it's easier to do the shot in relatively dark environment so the flash will become dominant to freeze the droplet and bring out the color reflection..
- shutter speed 1/200s is adequate to freeze the droplet in dark environment..
- since the lens is placed closed to the object, the DOF is thin so aperture smaller than f/20 is preferable to get enough DOF n sharper image..
- if encounter hot spot due to flash reflection, move the background further away to disperse/soften the light..
- play around with color balance function in PS.. "color gel/colored background + PS color balance = unexpected result"
anybody has different experiences??
u r most welcome to post your creations here as well.. so we can learn and share..

Keep it up my friend! Would like to see more of your work!
me also, next will be trying on lightpainting.. have fun..Thks, this is most helpful, will go try..
Jialat, I see people do lightpainting I wanna explore, see people do water droplets also want to try, so fickle..haha
thanks my friend..Good Effort my friend!
