Plastic mounts will wear out faster than metal one but if you use it normally, it will still last you for a very long time.

metal mounts can also break at "some point". I have seen a broken one personally.
I believe more lenses are out there (all those kit lenses you see everywhere) are plastic rather than metal, or at least there are hundreds of thousands of such plastic mount lenses around and there have been very few reports of breakage, unless you really abuse your camera, which you shouldnt since its high precision equipment.

Both plastic and metal can break. If they do, I'm pretty sure it is attributed to the user's carelessness 99% of the time.

In any case, I believe many other things will malfunction before the mount breaks anyway. That's why I am rarely concerned by the type of rear lens mount.

Eye-fi cards

Anyone using eye-fi cards pls share experiences on ease of use, auto upload to Mac (raw transfer and speed), d7000 buffer size with the class 6 card.

Thinking of getting one :-)

Cheers and greetings for the good Friday !

That will depend on your remote release cable. Most should have a sliding lever that lets you lock the button in place.

Erm, I referring to those switch lock cable release... Not the one u describe. The Nikon IR remote works in the manner u said, but u need to switch to remote release on your camera first. I find the release cable is a more practical option.

Come to think abt it, Phottix Cleon II might work exactly what you have described, but for a wireless radio release at $60, I find it not practical... Unless you want to take group photo with yourself in it under hot sun and timer release has becomes impractical...
