D7000 self-timer sound

Hello, I would like to check with fellow d7000 users that when they set their cameras to self-timer mode, is there any sound notification? My friend's set does not have the sound at all and he could not find the function in the camera menu. Thank you in advance.

No there isn't any sound notification during timer release, only determined by the AF-assist lamp blinking.

Yeah it shouldn't have sound. Haha if it beeps then it'd worrying. only the af-assist light blinking.

hmm mine has leh! it's a faint soft sound just like the beep when autofocus lock. i remember distinictively how my timer sounded so different from the other nikons when shooting landscape haha

Last time we took group photo, i thought got sound ...

I heard Beep, beep, beep beep .... beep.

I stop everything and look ... Aiya, it's my friends pager.

Main advantages of light notification instead of sound:
1) When you're far away from the camera OR when ambience noise is too loud, you can see the countdown via the light
