CRT/LCD Profiling Service

I concur with oeyvind & ransoma, the purpose for the calibration is for ensuring our prints & views are correct, others might be wrong, but it's an important thing, if it's not important, no printing shops will do any calibration on their printing & screens. They can just print as is.

Usless lah. If I've calibrated my LCD to perfect. After Edit, I mail or upload my photos. If a person with not calibrated LCD view my photos. It's be back to square one. Unless everybody calibrated his/ her monitor or else, everybody would be looking at slightly different colour of the same photo.

Agree ?

Disagree

I used to have a 21" CRT that has some problems, so the colour was way off

I never notice it because I adjust the colour until it looks ok to me

Later when I post some pic here, everyone complain that the colour is bad, I only notice it after I have seen my pic on a few other monitors, so I qucikly send it back to manufactuer and they give me a brand new one.

Luckily I did not edit any picture for my clients using that monitor at that time, my LCD is now calibrated so I have more confident with the colours. if anyone say the colour is off, I will tell them to get Oeyvind to calibrate their monitor

Sorry, I'm totally new to Color Mtg... Need to find out more before deciding whether I need the calibration service.

1. When calibrating the monitor, is it calibrated to sRGB or aRGB profile?
2. After calibration, how do we ensure the profile is intact when we send to those labs for printing. I've recieved an icc profile from KT Imaging, but do not know what to do with it.

Thanks! Btw, $50 for 3 monitors is great value!

Your display will be calibrated to D65 and gamma 2.2.

sRGB and Adobe RGB are color space, nothing to do with calibrating your screen.

I will show you as best as I can, during the visit on basic color mgmt.

P.S. If you have 2 displays connected to a machine, unless they are driven by two separate display card/chip, only one of the display can be profiled.
