Went bug hunting this afternoon again... seems like there was a pruning and all the plants and scrubs are botak now. No leaves = no bugs :( All that's left are big red ants.

I think that's it. probably will not be updating this thread until the leaves are grown and bugs are back. :( so sad... Thanks for viewing.

nevertheless, there's a small lonely long nose weevil still roaming around.

Managed to find a new spot for bugs around the neighbourhood and decided to try taking some night macros. It was really tough as it was pitch black. Luckily, I have 2 friends who are brave and game enough to go thru all the insect bites with me.

Here's some pix, 1st time taking night macro, please bear with me as pix are quite bad as lighting is no good.

(12) 1st Spider of the night.

Very nice series. what lens are you using?

Went back to the spot to see if I can find any bugs in the afternoon... Sadly, didn't find much and the weather is too hot. Only 1 fly.

Hi,

Hmmm... if my lens is set to the minimum focus distance, working distance from lens to subject is about 12cm with about 3x life size magnification. if lens is set focus at infinity, working distance is about 30-40cm
