Colours of Myanmar

Went to Myanmar with asterixsg to watch the annular solar eclipse earlier this month. The experince was unforgettable. The country is full of mesmerizing sceneries and lovely people. Personally Myanmar is definitely one of the most photogenic countries in Asia. Highly recommended for winter months.

Yangon:

#1 Shwedagon Pagoda, with the three of us

#2 Sule Paya, downtown Yangon

Inle Lake:

#3 Sunrise fishing, note the crescent moon

#4 The way the Intha fisherman fish is unique

#5 We were blessed with so many smiles like this

#6 Startrails in water! The water in the lake becomes still as mirror around midnight

Mandalay:

#7 Settawya Paya

#8 Mingun Paya, this is only the base, 49m tall. If the whole paya was finished, it would've become 100m+

Bagan:

#12 Bagan is definitely the highlight of Myanmar. You will get so many variations of colours throughout the day.

#13 Sunset from Pyathada Pagoda.

#14 Countless temples

#15 Again, you get all kinds of colours

#16 The famous Bagan hotair balloons, costing USD275 PER HEAD! Even though we couldn't afford a ride, the balloons turned out to be interesting subjects to shoot.

Annular Solar Eclipse:

I'm never tired of eclipses, especially total and annular solar eclipses.

#17 Taken with 400mm focal length

#18 Wide angle composite, showing the entire progress of the eclipse.

#19 Pin-hole projection method to watch the eclipse. Always fun to play with this.
