Need advice for a good and firm tripod. Is this a good combo

055 Pro + 486 RC2 to hold a 70-200 F2.8 IS with a 350D camera?

Thanks

Your choice of tripod and head is similar to what I had in mind.

Would love to have some insights of others on how this combo works with the gear you mentioned.

I'm using the 055 Pro with 488RC0 and mounted the 70-200 f/2.8 IS with my 10D w/grip. All i can say it.....awesome!!

I'm using 055prob + 486rc2 combo. Very sturdy with D200 + 18-200mm + grip.
Also tried with tamron 90mm lens with the camera pointing downwards 90degrees to shoot macros. I don't have 70-200mm lens but should be sufficient with this combo.

Only regret is not getting 488rc2 for panoramic shots.

Go for a Markins ballhead. You wouldn't need anything else after that. :)
