Hi members of ClubSNAP,

We will be migrating our Forums servers this Saturday 23 March from around 12noon, and we expect the downtime to be about 6 hours. This is due to the impending closure of the data centre that we are currently located.

The major difference between this migration and previous moves is that we are completely ditching our physical hardware and moving ClubSNAP into the Cloud. To that end, we have been actively working on ensuring the cloud infrastructure that we will eventually run on mimics (or exceeds) the existing hardware as closely as possible in terms of performance, and we are also anticipating that we can improve on the performance further.

However, since we will not know the full impact of unleashing 1000s of members/users onto the cloud platform (even though we have done some fairly hefty load testing), we would appreciate your patience (and feedback which I know we will get) when we re-open the Forums and over the next few weeks after the migration while we monitor and tweak the performance.

The Forums will be the first to move, to be closely followed by the Gallery and we will advise further on the Gallery migration.

Just to add on, while it is relatively easy to increase requirements in the cloud infrastructure, we do not have boatloads of money to spare so we will need to find the right balance for cost vs performance. Appreciate everyone's patience with us!!!

Hi Everyone,

Our Forums servers have been successfully migrated and we are monitoring for performance issues etc. Please post in
FAQs and Feedback if you have any problems or feedback.

Known Issues:
- Some Avatars/Thumbnails are not showing up properly - please try half an hour later, these should turn up once parts of the server cache are reloaded.
