It should be in your custom functions. Press the menu button and go to one of the yellow tabs.

Anyway, for those first-timer DSLR users, do sign-up for the free Canon training. They will demo and guide you through all the functions and the utilities.

How much is the wireless shutter control for 1000d ?

I think don't need to buy ba..

put the extra $50 into your savings and save up for your first 'L'... hahahaha

u could use the the self-timer.. I think in shooting mode you'd have a 2 second countdown timer?

or you could always preset a short duration of time before the camera opens its shutter.. u can also try to be gentler when u press the shutter..

either way, using the remote and the timer acheives the same purpose, to prevent jarring of the camera when u press the shutter.

happy shooting!

I'm new to DSLR too. No complaint with the 1000D. It's a good camera for starter. Use the money saved to buy a 50mm f/1.8 lens. Next on the list is a 430EX MK II or 18-200mm lens (Canon, Tamron or Sigma), not decided yet.

i bought for under 50 bucks.. try to search in this forum for reddotphotos....

1000D can use a wireless remote?? You got it local or online?? Wanna get 1 too. Thanks

I took photos in actual lunch settings and i find it challenging to get good photos from indoor where it is too bright lights around like restaurant. Photo kanna over exposed and under exposed...

use flash and a higher shutter speed. flash brightens your foreground (subject) and high shutter speed darkens the background, create DOF.

play around with your camera, don't forget the flash too =D

The problem i encounter was at the surrounding lights at river view hotel restaurant was very bright coming from the top and surrounding ...and there was a mirror infront of me too :-( i shot the photo with flash and the mirror reflected the light back at me...i was kind of unprepared....anyway i later use non flash and photo look much better.

thx for the tips
