because of how Malkohas behave, this is considered a reasonable background (usually is a lot worse...) :)

Have seen and heard these birds at Sime Forest before, but never managed to get a shot at them yet. It seems that they have been sighted at P.Ubin, but I have never seen one there so far. Good for you! :thumbsup:

thanks for your comments guys. I think i got lucky because it rained the day before so the Malkohas came out first thing in the morning to take in some sun (there was a pair of them in the tree).

The chestnut-bellied Malkoha is an interesting bird indeed with red mask around its eyes.

From the book on "Birds-An Illustrated Field Guide to the Birds of Singapore" by Lim Kim Seng & Dana Gardner, this bird is listed as "nationally near-threatened".
