Agree with your point. If taking photos of kids with many things to carry, then a good compact may suffice - say e.g. Leica D-Lux6.

When MFT was first mooted, technology at that time was such that the MFT-ideas-people could have been fixated with the thought that a physically small camera body MUST have a small sensor. Thus they ended up with a definition of small sensor 17.3mm wide x 13mm high and 2X crop factor.

Over a short period of time since then, technology improved by leaps and bounds. Now small camera bodies with a full frame sensor at 24.3 megapixel is not only technically possible - but are already made and sold at the shops.

This is only the beginning. Eventually a small size body and full frame sensor at much higher MP with interchangeable lenses will be available.

Yup, technology onky goes forward and not backward. FF interchangeable lens system will surely be available in future but when? Nobody knows. If it's just 1 or 2 months, sure it's a good idea to wait it out.

If not, then TS will be better off with the current cameras on the market and start making photos with them.
