Canon A590IS or Fuji S2000HD?

Sorry that i posted this twice. I hope this polling help me wif the difficult choice.

I'm asking on behalf of my friend. His budget is ard $350~$450 and i recommended the 2 models as mentioned. Any1 cares to give advices on which 1 to choose or any other model? (with manual control). He's a beginner in photographing...

Canon A590IS (S$370)
Pro: F-stop of F2.6 - F5.5, Shutter 15s-1/2000s, cheaper & smaller in size
Con: 4x optical zoom, no wide angle, 8MP

Fuji S2000HD (S$450)
Pro: wide angle, 14.8x optical zoom, HD video, 10MP
Con: F-stop of F3.5 - F5.4, Shutter 4s-1/1000s, cost S$70 more, bulky

i have no idea what the cameras are..

i chose canon because it is able to have longer exposure and IS. I wont choose either actually, prefer a S5 IS

Advice is to attend some basic courses. Cus no point spending on best equips if the output is so-so

Both have their pros and cons. If there is budget constraint i suggest you to get a 2nd hand entry lvl DSLR which can be available at BnS for less than 500 w kit lens and accessories.

The cost of film, and development can exceed the cost of a dslr in long run if you are shooting often.
