Can PS CS2 Process 1DMk2 RAW files?

As above. Helping for a friend to ask. Can the PS CS 2 program open/process 1DMk2 RAW (.CR2) files? Or do you need Canon DPP to do it? (ie convert first to TIFF?) TIA!
