Can Mixed Batteries type?

jus bought the new Sony 1-hour quick charger+2 batteries..

but i got an old pair of GP 1800 batteries...jus wondering if anyone had tried recharging GP batteries or any other brand other than Sony in the charger...:dunno:

results:
no melting
no burning
no under-charged
no 'lugi'

but the batteries and charger very hot after charging...normal right?
