Camera and Lens Cleaning

Hi everyone,

Just wanted to find out how much it will cost and how long it will take for Nikon Service Centre to clean my lens and camera body?

Also wanted to check if there are other avenues where i can get my camera stuff cleaned other than NSC.... not too experienced in this area so hoping someone can help! thank you!

Was thinking of getting my D80 cleaned as well, just got back from the beaches of Normandy...as you might imagine, sand + wind is not a friendly combo

Just sent my 14-24 f2.8 and 85 f1.4 into NSC. We were lighting up fireworks in Malaysia in the garden at night, too pretty not to capture on film. Ended up with grease on my darling 14-24! No filter attachment!

NSC was super nice, took the lenses to their back office, waited around half hour, and they cleaned the surface glass for FREE! Removed the grease with 'alcohol' lens cleaner.

Not so sure though if they were to open up and clean its components.

Was quoted S$40 to clean the 50/1.8 and S$70 for 1.2. Takes 2 weeks.

All prices before GST.

I was quoted nearly $30 with GST included (can't remember the exact sum) for cleaning the body.

That is like removing dust from sensor, cleaning the mirror and viewfinder etc.
