there are a lot of photography books in the main library, maybe you'd like to check them out. browse the books so you know the contents are applicable to your needs before buying them.

i saw some for beginners...

i personally liked Bryan Peterson "Understanding Exposure". It was my first photography book and he captured the fundamental techniques of exposure, aperture in a very interesting and applied manner. Wanted to buy the book to loan to any of my friends who wanted to take up photography.

plus... its available in our libraries... hot item though.
