Battery Grip - Burst Rate(FPS)

hi guys. This question not really specific for canon but since im in the canon camp, figured i'd ask here. just curious to know if adding optional battery grips boost the FPS or burst rate of a camera? and if it does, how does that work?

tried to google but not alot of concrete info regarding this issue.

Not for Canon, AFAIK. I do know some Nikon battery grips do boost frame rate.

canon, unlike other brands, don't cripple their cameras that way.
