We are working commerical and fashion professional photographers that organizing a "Basic Portrait Lighting Course". For people interested to learn things in lighting a portrait shoot a professsional photographer would approach and go about. This is not "a one day workshop". But a full five weekend days, three hour each day course. For you to learn basics of portrait lighting the professional uses. Full hand on approach with model provided on three of the lessons. Which you to learn and shoot to see it for your youself. Course notes will be given. The following are course details:

Leseon 01 -
01) Equipment Handling -
How to use the equipments normally found in the studio.
02) Safety -
Safety points to know in the studio.
03) Previsualization -
See the image in your head, use what you know to create.
04)Exposing Light -
Learn to know studio lighting exposure facts, expose to knowledge professional know.

Lesson 02 - (Hand on with a model provided)
01) Light Modifier -
See the different faces of different light.
02) Key Light -
Main light that can be short, broad, flat, even and Rembrandt.

Lesson 03 - (Hand on with a model provided)
01) Reflectors and Flags -
Put them in the right place to do wonders.
02) Background Light -
It is not only how bright, changes can happen.
03) Kicker -
Use light to structure forms in your picture.
04) Hair Light -
See the hair in different way.

Lesson 04 - (Hand on with a model provided)
01) Colour Black and White -
Light them to their best.
02) Black on Black -
Seperation is the key.
03) White on White -
Can be done if you know about greys first.

Lesson 05 - (Hand On)
01) Combine your new knowledge-
Use what you learn, I will help you to create THAT image.

I am a member of the Professional Photographer Association Singapore. Thus can claim to be a working professional photographer. There course dates are 24 July to 21 Aug every sunday afternoon for three hours, actual timing will be confirm later. ;)

Guys as the course is short fall of the necessary amount of students to start. :( I had decided to push the course to a later date and will post some more details to try to get more people interested. ;)
