I think the SB-800 is only compatible with the new D2h right? It won't work well with other Nikon DSLR/SLRs.

Correct me if I'm wrong...

It'll work just as well, the issue being, it offers no real advantage over the current SB-80DX.

My estimation is that it should be somewhere in the Oct/Nov timeframe.

On the hindside, the SB-800 comes with a 2-color filter set, tripod mount and a battery pack for a fifth battery that is meant for shorter recycle time. Technically it is the same as SB-80DX save for the better capability in doing multi-wireless flash. My take is, if it cost the same as SB-80DX release price, it will be better, value added buy
