can i use FL filter, UV lens on panasonic FZ18 prosumer camera?

If yes, Isit better to use FL lens, to protect my cam rather than MC Protector? Will the effect of the camera be better?

for lens protection use, UV or MC protector should be sufficient.

FL filter is used to correct the white balance when shooting under fluorescent lighting.
MC protector is just a multicoated filter used to protect the camera lens.
