it all depends on your camera and not the dvr... you can plug a wireless cam with a 2.4g receiver to the dvr which is somewhere else, or get a wireless cam with wifi and record via pc.

place in my house, thinking of getting a IP wireless cam but do not intend to on my laptop 24/7, looking for dvr recorder instead. Well this recorder can connect to my router LAN port, is there such recorder that can connect to LAN port and record from wireless camera?
