Hi,

Has anyone been to Moscow before? Please share some info regards to prices, are things generally more expensive than singapore? What kind of food do the locals eat?

its not a shooting trip, but we just wanna some lifestyle information, any places to shop?

thanks a million guys and gals!

:)

Used to visit Moscow few years back, things that I remenber:

* Weather can change quickily, bring a jacket when going out.
* Do not leave hotel without a Russian friend, nobody speaks English out there.
* People are generally NOT camera friendly.
* Locally made products are VVVVVery cheap.
* Shop with a sign "Hard Currency Only" deal only in US$. Normally VVVVVery expensive.
* D'ont be alarm to meet big gun carrying guards outside clubs.
* Blue eyes, tall young Russian girls are VVVVery attractive but they hardly speak English.
* Russian food is not my cup of tea. They like cold dishes, hot soup & bread.
* Hotel food is expensive, hard currency joints can cost u a Tamron SP AF 90mm f/2.8 for a dinner for 3, fast food (Like McDonald) is the economical way to go. Bring some cup noddles for emergency.
* market place can be interesting for photo shot, U'll see people lining up holding items in their hands to sell, if u r a smoker, some old folks may approach and ask for a cigarette, do give them one. Those poor faces still lingering.....

Hope u enjoy your trip. :)

Food tip: 'RESTAURANT' is 'PECTOPAH' when spelt in Cyrillic. Apart from the obvious golden arches of McD, it's easy to dismiss Moscow as not having any eateries as you'd only see PECTOPAH all over but no RESTAURANTS.;)

I been to Moscow before... spent most of my life living there :D Feel free to ask me any questions.
