I bought a pair of Columbia hiking boots from Queensway shopping center, very good quality, better than my Hitec boots, and much cheaper than Timberland boots. Columbia seems to be a popular brand in US

army goretex, timberland

There is this brand that starts with "V", forgot the full name of it. Saw it at those shops selling haversacks in shopping centres.

Ah suddenly recalled, the brand is call Vasque.

Haha, but gotta agree, SAF issued boots rocks (the version before gore-tex, never tried the gore-tex ones before)
SAF Gore-Tex boots. FOC one. ;)

Its slightly heavier den the older, all-leather one. But when it claims its water-proof, it IS water-proof (tried and tested under heavy rain conditions 2mths ago).

Oh yeah, juz try not to wear it overseas ok? Those metal shoelace rings will definitely set off da metal detector alarm and u'll be made to send ur boots thru da X-Ray machine. :D
