Hi

I am just thinking, instead of buying a UWA lens, is there any cheaper alternative like adding a wide converter for my Tamron 17-50mm lens?

Thank you.

Getting a wide angle adapter will deteriorate the IQ, and introduce lots of aberrations.
The other option I can think of that gives you reasonable IQ is to make a panorama out of several shots

For me, if I want super wide, I shoot panorama. I have better control on distortion as well. It's only works for static scene of course.

A cheap way would be to get a wide angle manual lens...

with the AF, it's so much cheaper...

wide converter won't give you sharpness from corner to corner, more over, might have distortion.

rant a 12~24mm to see whether justified the purchase, you able to get a used 12~24 at a lower price.
