Try to do a spot metering on the brightest part... (i think that's the sun right?) or around it, this way can get more detail of the sky...

err.... tht'll underexpose the whole pic.

For such pic, i suggest using your matrix meter and over expose by 1/2 stop. it'll bring out more shadow details with slight compromise on the sky part (overexpose a little bit)

I prefer the way it is exposed. There does not seem to be any shadow detail worth bringing out, and it seems that the sky is the most important element.
