I'm aware that some of our macro enthusiasts here have already been shooting at this urban park - particularly dragonflies. The pond area is still very good for dragonflies in the mornings with nice lighting.

NParks has recently improved the landscaping to attract more butterflies to the area.

Sharing some shots from a recent outing in this blog article.

So if macro shooters here want another convenient and accessible location for your outings, give AMK Town Garden West a try! :)

looks indeed a great place for insect macro photography... thanks for sharing... ;)

Just wondering... how do the foreign talents such as the Yellow Palm Dart arrive in Singapore?

Go shoot and post more here! The dragonflies are easy to shoot! Just by the water's edge.

Probably thru' the import of palms and related landscaping plants from the region, where the eggs, caterpillars or pupae were already on the plants as stowaways. Still just a theory though. It's unlikely that they could've flown here on their own.
