All Quiet on the Sony Front

think nobody buy sony camera nowadays...
btw my dad took the F828 to shoot overseas, den got 1 fren of his use the Nikon film SLR, he kinda dislike Digital, but after seeing the developed from the F828, he say how come this camera can render such nice skin tone, den he going to get a F828 maybe...
i always find F828 color kinda dull when use Real, but thats what i want, i prefer 'real' than those super saturated colors...

methinks Sony forum is getting less traffic maybe because
the flavour of the month now is DSLR lor.
Since 350D came out, Oly E300 is still cheaper, and D70
a perennial favourite (ok lar, maybe not so long, but a
long time favourite in digi-cam years).
The entry level DSLR scene is really buzzing with activities.
If u add Pentax n Minolta (errrr, maybe not yet, 7D quite ex)
into the equation, entry DSLR is competing in Sony's high-end
front.
I.e. potential shoppers willing to fork out 1.5K - 1.8K has
a lot of options in DSLR.
Just a thought.

yah agreed.. comparing the prices of prosumer P&S like the F828 vs the Oly E300.. with all DSLR BBB poison around. I feel a lot have switched over to DSLRs from consumer/prosumer P&S.

I should say that in prosumer cameras....Panasonic is doing alot of pushing in the markets these days...as compare to Sony. However Sony still has the edge when comes to good pic and friendly usage in that range of cameras...
The recent release P200 and the W5.. they are very good cameras..the start-up and shut-down are impressive fast.!! Picture are perfect...
However...comes to DSLR..Sony is not there yet cos they do not manufacture them "yet". And since the rara of low-range DSLR is the in-thing now....it quite normal SOny will be taking a beat...and the forumis quiet...but doesn't mean no one is using...most of us here in the forum have move on from prosumer to DSLR.. so i think it normal lah...
But I am sure it just a cycle........

Frankly speaking, a DSLR don't just stop at 1.5k - 1.8k....... it goes on and on...... not like prosumer, there is a limit......

I also prefer real mode. It's always better to 'under-capture' images than to over-capture. For instance, I read somewhere that to reduce the purple fringing or image artefacts, set the saturation to -1, then do post-processing to ensure better quality images.

There's definitely quite a number of sony P&S users here. Just that they prefer to be readers only.
