the underexposure is pretty uniform, and the haloing after picture 5 is killing me

yeah, they ruined the pic, hehe, though tried to desaturate the bg to make the model stand out

maybe it's personal preferences, but here i cannot think of reason why it is evenly not distributed :dunno: most of it is too bunched up to the left.. there are shadow areas in the picture, yes, but not that much i would guess

that day was cloudy, not enough good quality light. increasing iso dont improve quality.
the cloud is a giant diffuser, what shadow do you want? if you only shoot with ambient light, wait till the light is right lor.
your histogram is so short and skew to the left meaning it is dull and underexposed. please check out the skin tone in this workhttp://www.clubsnap.com/forums/showthread.php?t=357096.

actually, histogram represents the exposure of the whole picture, in my pictures, I did some underexposure and desaturate adjustment on the background trying to make the subject stand out...

#1 is simple and fine.
I see nothing wrong with the exposure for that one..and he did mentioned about tweaking the exposue balance.

The last one could have been good too but the 2 'extras' did spoilt the picture..

since someone mentioned that the weather on sunday was flat, i guess nothing could be done to improve the flat lighting on the pics on such shoots.

was there heavy pp done on the skintone? it looks funny to me. afaik, she doesn't look like that.

#1 still ok. #2 and #3, the face so blur compared to the background.

i think you are edit away the 2 photographers easily since you like #5 so much.
