I think it would be even nicer if his expressions were captured. I am sure he has a certain interesting look when concentrating on the clay.

err, go lower. shoot from a lower angle instead of from top down.

First pic would be much better for me if the legs on top were cropped and the white bowl below was cropped as well.

The last photo could be better as well with tighter framing as well (crop the sides closer)
