A photo every now and then by Newbies

Started this thread for newbies who have gathered at the newbie thread to post pics taken during the outings.

hi there, i think it's a good initiation we have here, but it seems that it's going to get rather disorganised. i believe this is targeting at members who do not feel confident enough to post in the main galleries?

here's a suggestion, pictures for critique or sharing can still be posted in other galleries, but to encourage frequent practise among newbies how about we have something like 'Newbie Pictures for the Day' where participating members contribute 1 picture a day?

i think the name got mistaken. Actually after our outing ( please refer to our newbie outing thread from the link in first post ) We don't know how to share photo, other gallery like criticize, street and candid , land scape or whatever not quite suitable. So we decided to make this thread.

So as i said, it got nothing to do with we,newbie, feel confident or not. If we post photo on the forum mean we are ready to take criticize otherwise we just send through email so nobody except my friends can see it.

If u feel that we should make it with different name or in other section, please give advise about that cause we don't know where.

Don't worry about the organised. We will delete most the chit chat post, only leave the comment post and photo.

i think it's best the pictures from the outing be shared within Street and Candid or Landscape then, or both. you can consider putting the name of the outing as the title for the thread(s) so that members will know straight away that the pictures are from the outing. i feel that it may not be that appropriate to have the outing pictures gathered here unless they are postings made periodically to go inline with the idea of 'A Picture A Day' or 'Some Pictures a Week'

beg to disagree... if you follow our newbies outing, we shoot everything, macros, spots, candids, etc... some kids even become potraits...

what are you disagreeing about?

to keep to the spirit of 'A Photo A Day' it's best that threads within this section are kept to those for periodic posting. please read this subforum's guidelines for more information.

pictures from outing can always be shared in any of the other galleries (appropriate to the theme)

are you requesting for a newbies only picture thread? seriously, unlike some other photography forums, i hardly experienced any separation between newbie, amateur and working photographers in CS. it's all in the mind, just be open about it, no need to have a thread screaming out to everyone that posters are all newbies, you know?

bahibo says that the aim is to have a thread for participants of that particular outing to share the pictures for learning. and now you say that the aim is to have a newbie thread. please get yourselves organised yah?

Reason : when we have a lot of theme like that,we can't really spread all the photo around.
"A photo a day" doesn't mean 1 photo a day, look around this corner , there will be n photo a day,even u have a dose photo a day right ?
We don't have intention to seperate ourself with the pro or normal photographer. But a kid can call himself kid , a man call himself man, a pro call himself pro,why newbie can't call them self newbie ?

The "newbies" can be refer to us or our group which have the name "young and newbie gathering " And what's wrong with calling ourself a newbie when we just pick up photography for few months.
