but they have "cropped large format" panorama digital 6x17 camera (almost 4x large than 645D sensor size) , work like range finder, than SLR

One 12" wafer is about US$50K (excluding yields at module level testing), and you can only have X bad pixels, and usually on a wafer, the yield distribution is not even on a wafer.
So 1 large format sensor = 1 wafer.
Maybe only NASA and Google will pay for it. :D

Thats basically a scan back.
I just don't understand why they charge so much for essentially a scanner to the back of any large camera (its a scanner, so it does not even need to take into account the high yield loss of a large area sensor )

Here's an idea on pricing.

Can't do shots where there's movement either.

They are an even more specialized tool.

....... buy sports car but no place to race ........ better to just ride the bike .........

Haha! That's what exactly people do... ;)

It's 2 different thing.. haha! Unless for example, you're comparing a K50 and a K500 which costs an additional $1000 because it has 1 fps more, now that's overkill for an enthusiast. ;)

here is the DIY large format scanner camera

http://www.flickr.com/photos/gregr/tags/scanner/

a 500 dollar large format camera + a 100 dollar scaner + DIY skills

Er... I think I better save up for that 645D :D :D

(there should be better DIY out there, I've read about these DIY backs too, but never looked too hard, since I know they are clunky and I don't have the time to diy it properly anyway)

my saving also got reversed by "the coming Pentax FF DSLR"
