Ive been eyeing a 50mm 1.8 for a while now and ive noticed that the focus barrel thingy is relatively thin, thus leading me to question if its possible to attach a 52mm UV filter

I dunno which 50mm f/1.8 lens you are referring to, but as far as I know, most commercially available 50mm f/1.8 lens today can accept 52mm filters.

yes.. u can attach 52mm filter on it

52mm filter can be attached for 1.8D. The new 1.8G has a 58mm filter thread though, I think.
From what I can see from the 8 threads you've started, the answers to 7 of them can be easily found by typing on Google. Please at least do some homework before posting here. The people replying type more in 1 post than you need to search on Google
