Does anyone know whether a 450D kit can be bought for under 1300 inclusive of warranty and GST??

If you don't need all the freebies that comes along, there's always room for slight bargaining with the dealers

I was also thinking of upgrading from my 300D. But then when I compared the prices from Olympus and Sony, I feel that Canon really overprice their product. Oly 520 with 2 good zoom lens covering all standard range is about $1300, and it comes with stabilizer built into the camera and much smaller too.:dunno:

yeah but oly has a 2x cropped sensor making some images tight. ha buy from taiwan... like me but mine is 400D aka kiss digital x
