P1 just completed.
Yeongam, 22 October Lewis Hamilton was fastest for McLaren (1.40.887) in the first ever practice session at the brand new Yeongam circuit in Korea, which is hosting the seventeenth round of the Formula 1 World Championship this Sunday. The session was very busy for everyone, what with teams and drivers having to get to grips with over five and a half kilometres of track, with the dirty surface causing tyre graining problems. Second quickest was Robert Kubica in the Renault (1.40.968,) with Nico Rosberg third for Mercedes (1.41.152.) Quickest of the Ferraris was Felipe Massa, twelfth on the time sheet in 1.43.054, having completed 25 laps, while in the other F10, Fernando Alonso was fifteenth, doing 21 laps, the best in a time of 1.43.928. As usual on a Friday, the team did not chase performance, but concentrated on evaluating different aerodynamic configurations with the two cars, Alonso running the blow rear wing, while Massa did not.
The action gets underway again here at 14.00 local time, with the second free practice session.
