17-55 f2.8 IS Problem

Hi guys,

May I know what is wrong with the lens if it occasionally shows 00 under aperture and it refuses to autofocus. Anyway to fix it other than going down to CSC? Is it a common problem?

very common problem with the IS unit. When it happens, off the IS, untwist the lens and twist it back. it should be fine le

i dun have this problem with my lens b4... think u better verify with the csc...

Try cleaning the lens and camera contacts. if the contacts are dirty, you might get an error message when you shoot, or aperture shows 00 when the camera thinks there's no lens attached.
