Not Sigma lah. Quality Zuiko Digital Lens. 50-200mm SWD.
Oh ic. Didnt know much on that till i read about it and MS color told me about the price> ($1580)
What's your budget? Always try to work within your budget. The 40-150mm is a good choice if you have a low budget or wanting to get a zoom lens to try out. If you have cash to spare then go ahead and get the 50-200mm.
Budget about $300+. Will be getting the 40-150mm. Thanks for the advise.
How much is that 70-300? You may be better off with this than the 40-150. Almost same f but much longer reach. Also this 70-300 have successfully demonstrated it's macro capability. (Manual Focus).

The 70-300 is a different lens. It is neither better nor worse. You can hand hold the camera with 1/60s f/4 @ 50mm (100mm equivalent) on the 40-150. You might even do 1/125s for 150mm (300 equivalent) on the 40-150.
The 70-300 is a different beast. You may be able to see 'differently'. Doesn't mean you can get good/better shots without more equipment (?tripod- good ones) because you might not be able to hold it steady enough. Even at 70mm - coz you are carrying the bulk of a 70-300mm. The 40-150 is a whole lot more compact.
Get the lens you need rather than "more if you can"....
On saying all these ..... I wish I have the 50-200 .... SWD if can .... :sweatsm::sweatsm:
I think 70-300 is not that bad... just abt 550gm, but for the IQ, personally I find 70-300 is pretty worth it.
But take note, 70-300mm and 40-150mm is more to a daylight lens, not bright enough for night shot unless boosting up your ISO.
50-200 is the best... F2.8-3.5...
Even if the 40-150 and the 70-300 is the same weight, both lens give different perspectives. At 300mm, for similar shutter speeds, hand shake will manifest earlier than 150mm, i.e. at faster shutter speeds.
BTW the 40-150 is 220g.
Between 70-150mm (equivalent focal lengths in both lenses), guess which lens will handle better?

I have to put 90-250 aside 1st... wait till i go gym and train up 1st... but If my boss give me 6 mths bonus, I may go for it.
But I am worry abt the sharpness la... I am bad in PP... :embrass:

Is there a 90-250mm len? From the way you guys said it seem super heavy & ahemm $$$$$$..
BTW another Question, what will be a good walk-around len?
Personally, I think the Oly 40-150 f/3.5-4.5 (aka 40-150 Mk-I) is the best choise for your budget.
See
http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-list...2?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1221149612&sr=8-2
(139.95 + 4.95) * 1.48 (approximate exchange rate now) = S$214.452
include US->SG shipping, that would cost about another S$19-S$38 (for approximate 1-2Kg volumetric weight)
S$252.452 <- you're still way under the 7% GST taxable limit for importing this lens. (S$400 is the limit, include shipping)
As for a good walk-about lens, I believe it is probably either the 12-60mm or the 14-54mm. IMO, I prefer the 14-54 more.
Plus, the 40-150 Mk-I and the 14-54/12-60 would make ideal travel lenses for the e5x0 series bodies - not compromising the least bit of IQ for the weight. Of course, the combined weight of these 2 lenses would lose out to the Oly 18-180mm for sure, haha.
Just my 2-cents. Cheers~
Take a look at the equipment and lens pricing sticky and you'll see the range of lens olympus has to offer.
The 90-250mm lens is heavy, weights at least 3.2kg.. hard to handhold to shoot unless u are as big and strong as spidey89.. :bsmilie:
A good walk around lens, IMO is the 12-60mm or 14-54mm. I guess most of the ppl here will take this lens for a walk about..
