Disagree with using the 105 micro lens for portrait. It is so sharp that it picks up blackheads, veins and all the other things that u usually want to hide. Use a micro lens for micro and a 50mm/1.8 for portraits

At f2.8, the dof is very small. did u focus at the centre of the pic? I like my 80-200mm lens, dun seem to have that kind of problem. And what is "very fast shutter speed"?

I got the same problem with 3rd party batt in my D300. It works for my D80 but not my new cam. My 3rd party batt actually last longer than the original batt, esp in cold weather (The Cleveland winter) when used in the D80

Less light gets into ur cam. If you want to take good phots using a CPL, dun be lazy.:)
